About Legg Calve Perthes
- ✓ Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease (LCPD) is a childhood condition that affects the hip joint.
- ✓ It occurs when the blood supply to the round head of the thighbone (femoral head) is temporarily interrupted.
✓ This lack of blood flow causes the bone to die (avascular necrosis) and collapse, leading to deformity and pain.
